At Phoenix Design in Stuttgart, it’s a longstanding tradition for interns to design a yo-yo as part of their internship. They have just 48 hours to design and build their creation before presenting it to the members of Phoenix Design. For my yo-yo, I wanted to break the mold and create something that defied traditional geometry and seemed to defy the laws of physics. I aimed to challenge stereotypes about yo-yos and break the conventional wisdom that they should be symmetric. After all, just because something is common doesn’t mean it makes sense!
