Messier

The Messier 104 Galaxy served as my inspiration for the design of this unique lighting fixture. Two circular aluminum shells, reminiscent of the sombrero shape of the galaxy, form the light’s main body. The shells can be easily opened or closed using a sophisticated linear slider system that is seamlessly integrated inside a wooden veneer pipe with metalcore. Adjusting the opening allows you to control the light intensity to create the perfect ambiance.

Moreover, the sliding shells not only enhance the light’s aesthetic appeal, but also act as efficient heat-sinks, significantly increasing the lifespan of the high-watt LEDs used in the fixture. Powered by the cutting-edge technology of Seoul Semiconductors’ Sunlike LED, the light renders the natural spectrum of our sun with remarkable accuracy.
